We refaced these kitchen cabinets with doors made from Knotty Alder. Knotty Alder is a beautiful wood with lots of character. Each door and drawer is unique due to the unique character of the wood. We use a natural finish with a black glaze to highlight the character of the wood.
This project took 5 days to complete and cost just under $13,500, including all the custom storage options.
The doors style the homeowner chose was a shaker style. Shaker is a very popular door style due to its clean lines. In this case we wanted a little bit of detail added to the traditional Shaker door so we added a small bead molding around the edge of the inside panel. This created a little more surface area for the black glaze to highlight without being too busy or decorative which would contrast with the character of the knotty alder doors.
The knotty alder shaker doors are truly unique and add a lot of character to the kitchen but what really makes this kitchen shine are the custom storage options we included. We added a spice pullout next to the stove, a trash and recycling pull out and lift gate door to their appliance garage.
